Families Program

  • Have at least one child who qualifies for the National School Lunch Program.
  • Do not have outstanding debt to Comcast that is less than a year old. Families with outstanding debt more than one year old may still be eligible.
  • Live in an area where Comcast Internet service is available but have not subscribed to it within the last 90 days.

Senior Program

Eligible seniors living in the Seattle, Washington area can get access to affordable Internet at home and receive free computer classes and Internet training from Comcast partners.   • Must receive federal or state public assistance specific to the area where they reside. See list of eligible areas below for details.

  • Must live in an area where Comcast Internet service is available but not have subscribed to it within the last 90 days.

Required eligibility Documentation

Some customers will need to provide copies of the eligibility documents and a signed application. The name and address on the documentation needs to match the application. You may be eligible for Internet Essentials if you receive HUD housing assistance such as Public Housing, Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8 Vouchers) or Multifamily Assistance (including Project-Based Section 8 and 202/811). The documents(s) must include you name, address and the name of the local Public Housing Authority or the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Residents can request a copy of the relevant documentation from their local Public Housing Authority or the landlord. Applicants must present a copy of one of the following items from the current or previous year:

Acceptable Documentations

Multifamily (including Project-Based Section 8 and 202/811)
• Lease or Tenant Income Certification (TIC) Form or Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) Form or Tenant Eligibility and Rent Procedures Document (form 50059)

Public Housing
• Lease or Tenant Income Certification (TIC) Form or Rent Statement or Rent Letter

Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8 Voucher) 
• Lease with Section 8 Tenancy Addendum or Tenant Income Certification (TIC) Form or Voucher Form or Family Report (form 50058) or Lease Up Document

Identification Requirements

In order to apply for Internet Essentials, customers must provide accepted forms of identification. For those who do not have a social security number or who do not want to provide their social security number, you must provide one (1) form of Primary Identification OR two (2) forms of Secondary Identification:

Provide one (1) item from this list for proof of identification

  • Current US or Canadian Driver's License or state photo ID card or expired photo Driver's License not more than five years from expiration date
  • Current US Passport or expired US Passport not more than five years from expiration date | Current Foreign Country Passport
  • Current photo US Military ID/Merchant Marine card, Current photo US Military Dependent ID card 
  • Certificate of US Citizenship (N-560 or N-561) | Valid Resident Alien Card/Permanent Resident Card (INS Form I-551)
  • Certificate of US Naturalization (N550, N-570, or N-578)
  • Employment Authorization Document (INS Form I-688 or I-766)
  • Bureau of Indian Affairs Tribal ID card
  • Photo employment ID card issued by US Government agency
  • Current Welfare / Social Services photo ID card
