Job Corp

Job Corps is a no-cost education and vocational training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 improve the quality of their lives through vocational and academic training. Funded by Congress, Job Corps has been training young adults for meaningful careers since 1964. Job Corps is committed to offering all students a safe, drug-free environment where they can take advantage of the resources provided. Job Corps’ mission is to set highly motivated young people on a pathway to education and training for successful careers in the nation’s fastest-growing industries.

Contact Job Corps

If you or someone you know is interested in joining Job Corps or would like more information, please call (800) 733-JOBS or (800) 733-5627
(TTY users may call (877) 889-5627.) An operator will provide you with general information about Job Corps, refer you to the admissions counselor closest to where you live, and mail you an information packet.

In Washington state there are currently four Job Corps facilities in operation. The nearest one to Snohomish County is the Cascades Center in Sedro-Woolley, about a 45 minute drive from Everett. Students that go to Job Corps can work toward and earn a high school diploma or GED, then advance to their chosen vocational field. Students live on campus but can come home on the weekends and on breaks if they choose to. There's even buses provided from the center to Everett station. Most students are at Job Corps for anywhere from 10 months to 3 years. The cost of the program is free and is a great opportunity for older youth (16-24 year olds) to transition into adulthood with a safety net. Youth that have already earned a GED or diploma can still go to Job Corps to train for a career and gain employment experience.
