Affordable Care Act Help Sessions at Everett Public Library

Everett Public Library has partnered with Sea-Mar Community Health Centers and the Community Health Center of Snohomish County to provide free guidance for anyone wishing to enroll for Affordable Care Act health coverage. Open enrollment for Affordable Care Act health coverage begins on Thursday, Nov. 1, and runs through Saturday, Dec. 15. Everett Public Library will host eight Affordable Care Act help sessions with a certified In-Person Assistant through our community health partners. Open enrollment can be tricky to navigate independently. Help is available on a first-come first-served basis. There is no charge to attend. For further information, please call 425-257-8250.

Sessions will be held at the Main Library, at 2702 Hoyt Ave. in Everett, on Dec. 14. Session will be held at the Evergreen Branch Library, at 9512 Evergreen Way in Everett, on Dec. 10, and Dec 15. All sessions will take place from 1:30-3 pm.

Everett Public Library hosts WorkForce Snohomish workshops about paid apprenticeships

Everett Public Library will partner with WorkForce Snohomish to host two informational workshops for jobseekers. These "Entry to Apprenticeship” workshops are designed for anyone seeking information about how to qualify for paid apprenticeship opportunities in well-paying trades like construction, boilermaking, bricklaying, and more. 

The second workshop will be held at 6 pm on Monday, December 17, at the Main Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave., in Everett.

Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance – Consumer Focused Support Group

7:00 pm -8:30 pm. Always the SECOND Monday of the month. This support group focuses on support for the “consumer” (those with a mood disorder -bipolar and/or depression). Providence Hospital, Colby Campus, 1700 13th St, Everett in the Medical Office Building (MOB) Rainer Room (Directions to the Rainer room from the Hospital parking garage are below. Parking is better and the room is bigger! Parking and Room Directions:

  • Enter the Hospital parking garage from 13th Street
  • Drive up to the 3rd floor and park (near the skybridge/footbridge entrance)

National Alliance on Mental Illness Parent Support Group

For parents and caregivers of youth and adolescents (under 20 years of age) living with a mental illness. A great place to gain strength, find resources, share joys and frustrations and learn from those “walking the walk” with us. 
The church is located across from the courthouse. BASICS sign is located at Rockefeller stairway entrance; bear right as you enter the church doors to Calvin Lounge.

Family to Family Class - National Alliance on Mental Illness

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Snohomish County has started several programs since March. All NAMI classes are free and open to community members who are dealing directly with a health diagnosis or supporting a family member who has a diagnosis. 
NAMI is currently accepting applications for their 12 week Family To Family Classes in Everett, and Edmonds. This class provides support, tools for survival and education to individuals that love and support someone with mental illness.  Registration required for classes. 
The National Alliance on Mental Illness also holds ongoing drop in support groups in Lynnwood, Edmonds, Everett and Marysville.
