Therapeutic Health Services
Therapeutic Health Services (THS) is a outpatient service and program that offers a wide range of treatment options for individuals, youth and families affected by drug dependence, substance/alcohol abuse, and mental illness. This program is primarily facilitated by licensed chemical dependency counselors. It is not 12-step based.
OPIATE SUBSTITUTION TREATMENT
THS uses a variety of treatments to help clients recovering from opiate addiction. These include clinically supervised methadone (Buprenorphine and Suboxone) treatment options for management of physical and mental withdrawal symptoms for certain types of opiates. Patients receive their medication from qualified health professionals and routinely meet with a primary counselor.
MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT SERVICES
THS provides assessment and evaluation, medication management, and case management. Additionally, it provides individual and group counseling to help manage chronic and short-term mental health issues, cognitive problems, and post traumatic stress disorders.
There is also the Pregnancy and Family Recovery Program, which provides individual and group counseling, at home strategies, parenting classes and relationship skills. THS offers additional resources such as extended education nutritional counseling and resume building/job searching assistance.
INTEGRATED COGNITIVE THERAPIES:
THS offers a Integrated Cognitive Therapies Program that focuses on clients in need of both mental health and substance abuse treatments. A youth version of this program is also available for co-occuring mental health and chemical dependency treatment.
This is a Three Phase based program
Phase One is an early intervention. It is also the educational component of treatment wherein clients attend three sessions a week for three hours. As a group, lectures and receive written assignments. followed by group therapy. Clients must dedicate a minimum of 72 hours to at THS to successfully complete this phase.
Phase Two admission depends on progress during the first phase. This phase meets once a week for a therapeutic group facilitated by chemical dependency specialists. The goals are to foster peer interaction and teach life skills.
Phase Three is a monthly process group focused on personal growth and recovery. This phase concludes with a solid plan for relapse prevention. As clients progress through the phases, they see a counselor for individual therapy on a regular basis. Therapy can take place once a week, and a minimum of once a month is required.
