The Snohomish County Syringe Exchange

The AIDS Outreach Project/Clean Syringe Exchange is a free 1-to-1 needle exchange program to help stop the spread of HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C. Here you can anonymously exchange used needles for clean ones. You will receive one clean needle for each used needle turned in.

Snohomish Health District's Viral Hepatitis Outreach program staff often participate in the syringe exchange to offer the following services:

  • Free hepatitis C testing and hepatitis A and B vaccinations, for those who qualify
  • Other harm reduction supplies and advice, such as free condoms, resource referrals and information
  • each needle exchange participant is given Naloxone ( an antidote used to treat an opioid overdose)
