YearUP

Year Up is a one-year, intensive training program that provides low-income young adults, ages 18-24, with a combination of hands-on skills development, coursework eligible for college credit, corporate internships, and wraparound support, to prepare students for success in professional careers and higher education. Participants earn a stipend throughout the program (both while you train and during your internship) and complete courses eligible for college credit. Staff (including program managers, coaches, and student services teams) and alumni network support you in reaching your maximum potential, both as a student and as a working professional. You’ll be paired with an experienced professional. They’re there to give you one-on-one attention and guidance as you make decisions about your future. Ask questions, share ideas, and get expert advice about your career path.

TECHNICAL SKILLS CLASSES AT YEAR UP MIGHT INCLUDE:

  • Desktop and Network Support | Help Desk | Hardware Repair

  • Operating SystemsDisk Formatting, Partitioning and Ghosting

  • Peripherals | Software Installation

  • Viruses and Malware | Microsoft Office and Outlook

  • Networking and TCP/IP | Investment Operations

  • Customer Service | Fund Accounting

YOU CAN APPLY TO BE A YEAR UP STUDENT IF YOU ARE:

  • 18-24 years old

  • High school graduate or GED recipient

  • Of low to moderate income

  • A U.S. Citizen, permanent resident, or have an employment authorization card

  • Available 5 days a week (Mon-Friday) for the full year of the program

  • Highly motivated to learn new technical and professional skills

  • Have not obtained a bachelor’s degree
